The story

Two companies. One growth philosophy.

Makwande Energy Trading was established in December 2006 as a BBBEE trading company in the South African oil market. Trading activities began in January 2007, focused on physical crude oil and refined products with deep market intelligence and disciplined risk management at the core of every position.

In February 2009 the group launched Makwande Supply and Distribution (Pty) Ltd to take ownership downstream — moving fuel by road tanker, in full compliance with the Hazardous Substance Act and related transport legislation.

The name Makwande is Nguni for “let there be growth.” Nearly two decades later, it still sets the agenda: grow the team, grow the fleet, grow the partnerships — never at the cost of safety or accountability.
